Editorial Policy
This Editorial Policy explains how content on FANOUSS is created, reviewed, and maintained.
Original Content
All guides and articles are written and structured specifically for this Site. We do not publish plagiarized, spun, or mass-generated low-value content.
Accuracy & Sources
Factual claims about currency, geography, languages, and similar stable facts are checked against reliable public sources. Time-sensitive information (visa rules, prices, safety advisories) is flagged as subject to change, with links to official sources where relevant.
Corrections
If you notice an error or outdated information, please let us know via our Contact page. We review and correct factual errors promptly.
Advertising & Editorial Independence
Advertising and affiliate partnerships (see our Affiliate Disclosure) are kept separate from editorial decisions. Sponsored content, if published in the future, will always be clearly labeled as such.
No Fake Reviews or Testimonials
We do not publish fabricated reviews, testimonials, or user experiences.
How Our Pages Are Structured
Country, city and destination guides follow the same structure so that you always know where to look. Each covers an overview, what makes the place worth the trip, when to go, where to stay, how to get around, what to eat, practical advice and, where relevant, frequently asked questions. Using one structure across the Site means you can compare two places without relearning how a page works.
We do not add sections simply to make a page longer. Where we have nothing useful to say about a topic for a particular place, we leave that section out rather than filling it.
What We Verify and What We Do Not
We distinguish between two kinds of information. Durable facts (geography, history, what a neighbourhood is like, how a city is laid out, the general shape of the seasons) are checked against reliable references and change slowly. Volatile details (prices, opening hours, entry requirements, visa rules, transport timetables and safety conditions) change without notice.
We deliberately avoid stating volatile details as though they were settled, and we tell you where to check them instead: official tourism boards, national park authorities, government travel advice and transport operators. Where a page does mention something time-sensitive, treat it as a starting point and confirm it with the official source before you rely on it.
Review and Updating
Pages are revisited as we work through the Site, and are revised when we learn that something has changed. Substantive corrections are made to the page itself rather than added as a note at the bottom, so that what you read is current.
What We Do Not Publish
- Invented facts, figures, prices or rules. If we cannot establish something, we leave it out rather than guess.
- Reviews or testimonials written in the voice of people who do not exist.
- Content produced only to rank in search, including keyword-stuffed text and pages assembled from other sites.
- Images that show a different place from the one the page is about.
Use of Tools
We use software to help with drafting, structuring and checking pages, in the same way that a writer uses a spellchecker, a style guide or a research assistant. Editorial judgement about what is published, and responsibility for it, rests with us.
Telling Us Something Is Wrong
If you find an error, please write to admin@fanouss.com with the page address and, if you have one, a link to a source. Corrections from readers who know a place well are the fastest way this Site improves, and we are grateful for them.
