FANOUSS is a travel guide and planning resource built to help travelers make confident, well-informed decisions: from choosing a first destination to planning the details of a trip.

What We Do

We publish destination guides, country and city profiles, and practical planning tools, organized so you can move from inspiration to a concrete plan without digging through dozens of unrelated sources.

Each country and city page follows the same structure, so once you know where to look for entry requirements, seasonality, transport or budget guidance on one page, you know where to find it on every other. The travel tools handle the arithmetic that comes up repeatedly when planning: converting currencies and time zones, estimating flight durations and trip budgets, and building a packing list.

Our Editorial Method

We write and structure our own guides. We do not republish, translate or rewrite other sites’ content, and we do not publish machine-generated filler to make pages look longer than they have anything to say.

Guides are built around the decisions a traveler actually has to make: when to go, where to base yourself, how to get between places, what has to be booked in advance, and what a trip costs in practice. Where a page has nothing useful to add on a subject, we leave it out rather than padding it.

How We Handle Facts

  • Official sources first. Entry requirements, permits, park rules, public transport arrangements and safety guidance are taken from government departments, national tourist boards, UNESCO, meteorological agencies and site operators — not from other travel blogs. Where a page has a sources section, those links are published with it.
  • We do not invent specifics. Prices, opening hours, visa durations, fees and statistics are only stated when they come from a source we can point to. If we cannot verify a number, we describe the situation qualitatively instead of guessing at a figure.
  • Volatile information is labelled as volatile. Visa rules, fees, timetables and opening hours change, sometimes at short notice. We flag these as things to confirm before you travel and point you to the official page that will be current, rather than presenting them as permanently fixed.
  • Look-alike official sites are called out. Several countries’ visa and travel-authorisation systems are shadowed by commercial sites charging a markup. Where that is a known problem, we name the genuine government address.

Reviews and Corrections

Guides are revised as sources change, and pages that carry a review date show when they were last checked. Travel information ages, and a page that was accurate when written can stop being accurate without anything visibly changing.

If you find something out of date, incomplete or simply wrong, please tell us. Corrections from readers who have just been somewhere are one of the most useful things we receive, and we would rather fix a page than defend it. Our Editorial Policy sets out how we write and review, and how we handle corrections.

  • We do not accept payment for favourable coverage, and we do not publish sponsored guides presented as editorial.
