Pegasus Airlines
Pegasus Airlines is a Turkish low-cost airline with its main base at Istanbul Sabiha Gรถkรงen Airport (SAW), on the Asian side of the city. It flies domestic routes across Tรผrkiye and international routes to Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, often with connections through Istanbul.
Base and network
Most Pegasus flights in Istanbul use Sabiha Gรถkรงen (SAW), not Istanbul Airport (IST), the hub of Turkish Airlines. The two airports are far apart on opposite sides of the Bosphorus, so check carefully before booking a connection or a hotel.
Baggage allowance
From Pegasus’s official cabin baggage page (international and Northern Cyprus flights, bookings made after 14 February 2024):
- All packages include one under-seat bag of up to 40 x 30 x 15 cm and 3 kg.
- Light package: the under-seat bag only, with no cabin bag or checked bag. A cabin bag (where the flight allows) or checked baggage can be added.
- Saver, Saver Plus and Comfort Flex: the under-seat bag, a cabin bag and a checked bag.
Cabin bag dimensions and checked weights are shown during booking and on the Pegasus baggage allowance page; rules for domestic flights are different.
Check-in
From Pegasus’s check-in page:
- Online check-in opens 7 days before departure and closes 60 minutes before (this can vary by airport).
- Airport counters and bag drop close 45 minutes before domestic flights and 60 minutes before international and Northern Cyprus flights.
Seats, food and onboard service
Seat selection, meals and extras are sold separately or as part of higher fare packages. Food and drinks can be bought on board.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
Flexibility depends on the package: Light is the most restrictive, while Comfort Flex is designed for more flexibility. Check the package conditions before buying and manage changes on flypgs.com or in the app.
Practical tips
- Light means one small bag only. Price the package with luggage before comparing fares.
- Know your Istanbul airport. SAW and IST are very far apart; leave a big margin if you need to switch.
