Saudia is the national airline of Saudi Arabia and a member of the SkyTeam alliance. It operates large hubs in Jeddah and Riyadh, serving domestic routes across the Kingdom and international flights to the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. It carries large numbers of pilgrims travelling for Hajj and Umrah, which shapes demand in those seasons. Its loyalty programme is AlFursan.

Hubs and network

Jeddah (King Abdulaziz International) and Riyadh (King Khalid International) are Saudia’s main bases. Through SkyTeam, Saudia connects with partners such as Air France and KLM on through tickets.

Baggage allowance

From Saudia’s official carry-on page:

  • Guest Class (Economy): one hand bag or briefcase up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm and 7 kg.
  • First and Business: one hand bag up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm and 12 kg, plus one briefcase up to 45 x 20 x 35 cm and 9 kg.
  • Free personal item in addition: for example a coat, tablet, handbag, stroller or baby cradle, or essential items for passengers with disabilities.
  • Departing the USA or Canada for Saudi Arabia: only one carry-on item in all classes.
  • Saudia may move a cabin bag to the hold for safety or space reasons, and carry-on items accepted at departure may not be accepted at connecting stations because of aircraft differences.

Checked baggage depends on the fare (“branded fare”) you buy: see Saudia’s branded fares page. Extra and additional baggage can be bought through the extra baggage page.

Check-in

You can check in online, in the app or at the airport. Check-in windows and deadlines vary by airport and route, and during Hajj and Umrah seasons airports can be extremely busy; confirm the timings for your flight in your booking.

Seats, meals and onboard service

Meals are served on Saudia flights, with the level of service depending on cabin and flight length. In line with Saudi regulations, alcohol is not served on board. Seat selection options depend on your fare.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

Change and refund conditions follow your fare. Manage your booking on saudia.com or contact Saudia support. For delayed, lost or damaged baggage, use the official baggage claim form.

Practical tips

  • Keep within 7 kg in Guest Class, and remember allowances at a connecting airport may be stricter.
  • Travelling for Umrah or in peak seasons? Book early and arrive at the airport with plenty of time.
  • Check entry requirements on our Saudi Arabia guide.
