Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), also known as Roissy, is France’s main international gateway and one of Europe’s busiest airports, located about 25 km north-east of central Paris. It is the hub of Air France, and the arrival point for most long-haul flights to Paris.
Terminals and airlines
- Terminal 1: the original circular building, used by many international airlines.
- Terminal 2: a long complex of halls from 2A to 2G, used by Air France, its SkyTeam partners and other carriers. It sits next to the airport’s TGV and RER station.
- Terminal 3: a smaller terminal mainly used by charter and low-cost flights, near Roissypรดle.
The terminals are not within easy walking distance of each other, so always check your terminal and, for Terminal 2, your hall before setting off.
Transit and connections
Connections within Terminal 2 are common on Air France itineraries; follow the connecting-flights signs from your arrival gate. Changing between halls or terminals can involve a shuttle, security screening and, between Schengen and non-Schengen flights, passport control, so short connections leave little margin. On separate tickets, you will need to collect and recheck bags. Our Layover Planner helps you judge the time needed.
Passenger facilities
Each terminal has shops, restaurants, currency exchange and lounges, with the widest choice in Terminal 2. Services vary by hall, so check the Paris Aรฉroport website for yours.

Transport Links
Paris Aรฉroport lists all access options on its official transport page:
- RER B train: the main public-transport link to central Paris, taking about 30 minutes, with trains roughly every 10โ20 minutes from around 5 am to midnight (RATP information). There are two airport stations: Aรฉroport Charles de Gaulle 1 for Terminals 1 and 3 and the Roissypรดle bus station, and Aรฉroport Charles de Gaulle 2 for Terminal 2.
- Buses: day and night buses run to Paris and the suburbs, including the Roissybus.
- TGV high-speed trains stop at the station inside the airport next to Terminal 2, with direct services to many French cities.
- Taxis and private hire vehicles are available at every terminal. Use only official taxi ranks.

Traveler Information
- Know your terminal, and for Terminal 2 your hall (2A to 2G). Halls are far apart; 2G in particular is reached by shuttle bus.
- Use CDGVAL, the free driverless shuttle linking Terminal 1, Terminal 3/Roissypรดle and Terminal 2, rather than walking between terminals.
- Check the RER B ticket before you travel: the airport is priced separately from ordinary Paris metro journeys.
